What the agent changes in the spreadsheet

Edits that the agent makes itself in the Agent panel at your request. These are the same things you would do by hand through the menus, the right-click and the sheet tabs, and the result is the same.

  1. Ask in words: “make column B currency”, “hide rows 3–5”, “replace ООО with АО”, “keep only amounts greater than 500”. If one request needs several edits, the agent applies them at once.
  2. What you can ask for:
    • Values and formulas. Enter data and formulas; drag a formula over a range; continue a series from a sample (1, 2, 3…, “Шаг 1, Шаг 2”, dates); clear cells. Find and replace, in values or in the text of formulas, with or without case sensitivity, whole cell or by sample. Move a range: formulas that referred to it move along with it. Copy with formulas, only values, or transposed, when rows become columns (like Transpose in a paste). Replace formulas with their values.
    • Formatting. Font style, typeface, size, colour, fill, alignment, wrapping, number format. Borders with a line style: thin, medium, thick, dashed, dotted or double. A whole column or row (“column B”), together with the rows you add later. Remove formatting, keeping the values. Column width to fit the content.
    • Rows and columns. Insert, delete, set width and height, freeze, hide and show. Group (collapsed or expanded), and remove a group.
    • Data. Sorting, removing duplicates, splitting text into columns, trimming spaces, subtotals. A filter by values, as they are shown on screen: “02.10.2026”, “1 200,50”. A filter by condition: greater than, between, contains, empty, and others. A filter by fill or text colour. A filter view is a filter with its own name: it appears in Filter views, each person switches it on for themselves, and the sheet’s common filter stays as it was. The author of such a view is Agent. The agent removes an unneeded view by its name.
    • Sheets. Add, rename, delete, hide and show, copy, reorder, colour a tab; rename the spreadsheet itself.
    • Rules. Highlighting by condition, and colour scales. A new rule can be placed first and can have Stop if true turned on. Remove all the rules from a range, or one of them, by its number among the rules of that range: the one applied first comes first. Date highlighting: today, yesterday, tomorrow, last week, last month, a specific date. Dropdown lists and input validation, named ranges, workbook functions.
    • A table object, like Format as table: its columns can later be referred to by name, for example =SUM(Заказы[Сумма]).
    • Protection of a sheet or a range: only for the owner, for editors, or for named people in the workbook (“let only Иван Петров edit”).
    • Charts. Build, fix and remove by name or number. An edit changes the look, the title, the data, the size, the colours and the axis labels. A new chart without a given place is placed below the existing charts, not over them.
    • Pivot tables. Build with filters and your own value labels, fix, recalculate, and remove together with its sheet.
  3. The agent guesses the header of a range from the data. The first row counts as a header if it consists entirely of text and there is nothing above the range. The answer then says that this row stayed in place. You can also say it explicitly: “no header”.
  4. Names the agent gives itself (a new sheet, a copy of a sheet, a pivot table, a column without a header) are in your interface language, and they do not repeat existing names: “Sheet 3”, “Sheet 1 copy 2”, “Pivot 2”.
  5. Before the first edit in an answer, the agent puts the mark Before agent edits into Version history (see Agent in the spreadsheet).
  • An edit made of several actions is applied in full or not at all. If even one action is wrong, nothing is written, and the agent receives remarks on all the actions at once.
  • In one edit the agent changes up to 20 000 cells and makes up to 200 changes. Continuing a series, moving, copying, and replacing formulas with values also cover up to 20 000 cells at a time. A sheet can have up to 99 999 rows and 999 columns.
  • Moving works only within a sheet. To another sheet, the agent copies the range, and then clears the old place.
  • Without a separate request, replace does not touch formulas: text that was found only as a result of a formula is not replaced. The new text can be up to 5 000 characters.
  • When replacing formulas with values, a cell with an error stays a formula. When copying values and transposing, the error is carried over as text. When transposing formulas, the results always go in as values.
  • You cannot hide all the columns of a sheet. Groups can nest up to 8 levels, and up to 500 on a sheet. Rows hidden by a filter are shown when the filter is removed.
  • A filter by values can have up to 200 values. If none of them is in the column, the filter is not set. There can be up to 50 filter views per sheet, with names up to 100 characters. A second view with the same name (letter case is not distinguished) is not created.
  • A new data validation rule placed over an old one does not remove the old rule; it cuts it, and the old rule remains on the other cells. If the old rule would be split into more than 100 pieces, the edit is not made.
  • A workbook can have up to 50 sheets, and a sheet name can be up to 100 characters. The sheet of a pivot table is not copied: the pivot table is built again.
  • The width to fit the content is from 40 to 500 points. The agent looks at the first 200 000 cells. Cells merged across the width are not counted.
  • The name of a table object starts with a letter, has no spaces, does not look like a cell address, and is not taken by another table or a named range. Tables do not overlap.
  • Protection for people applies only to those who are in the workbook (as in the mentions list in comments), up to 200 people.
  • A chart is built from the data of its own sheet, and needs at least 2 rows and 2 columns. Its size is from 160 to 2 000 points in width and from 120 to 2 000 in height (by default, 480 × 320), with up to 12 colours. A request to remove a chart without a name or number removes all the charts on the sheet.
  • In a pivot table: up to 10 grouping columns, 10 values and 10 filters, and up to 100 values in a filter. It calculates SUM, COUNT, COUNTA, AVERAGE, MIN and MAX.
  • Not supported: inserting pictures, a dropdown list from a range, and confirmation before deleting rows and sheets.
What you see on the screen Why What to do
Step Edit rejected, then the agent corrects itself One of the actions was wrong; nothing was written Wait for the answer. If the agent gives up, clarify the request
Step Edit rejected, and the answer mentions ДВССЫЛ (INDIRECT) The agent has access to part of the sheets, and ДВССЫЛ (INDIRECT) can fetch data from a closed sheet Tick all the sheets in Data: N sheets, or ask for a formula without ДВССЫЛ (INDIRECT)
The agent says there is no such person in the workbook, and lists the people in it The named person is not among the people in the workbook Invite them to the spreadsheet, or name them as in the list
The agent says the rows are not hidden, but they are not on the screen A filter hides the rows Ask the agent to remove the filter
The agent says there is no such view, and lists the existing ones The sheet has no filter view with this name Name it as it is shown in Filter views
