Profile: first name, last name and login name

What it is

The Settings → Profile section. Here you change your name, last name and login name. At sign-up you are barely asked for them: the login name is made up from your email, and the last name can be left out.

How to use it

1. Open the profile menu (your name in the upper right corner) → Profile. Or find Profile with search.
2. The section has the fields Name, Last name (optional) and Login name. An empty field shows a sample: “Anna”, “Smith”, “anna-smith”. Mail is shown as text; it cannot be changed here.
3. Change a field and the Save button becomes active. Click it or press Enter. While saving, the button shows Saving…, then Saved appears. The new name is shown at once in the upper right corner.
4. A new login name works right away: sign in with it or with your email. Letter case does not matter when signing in.
5. Below is the Space block if you belong to an organization (see Organizations).

Limits

• Name is required and up to 64 characters. Last name is up to 64 characters and can be left empty.
• Login name is from 3 to 32 characters: Latin letters, digits, hyphen and underscore. It must be free; letter case does not matter. It is saved as you typed it.
• No more than 30 saves per hour, counting failed ones too.
• Email and password cannot be changed here. To change the password, use Forgot password? on the Sign in page.
• If you change your name or last name, your personal account is renamed the same way. The organization’s name does not change.
• The previous login name is freed at once, and another person can take it.
• An account you sign in to through an external service (only on the demo stand) cannot be edited here.
